ACI Worldwide, Inc.

Mr. Heasley was named president and CEO of ACI Worldwide in March 2005. He has more than 30 years in payment systems and financial services. Before joining the company, he was chairman and CEO of Paypower, LLC. From 2000 to 2003, he was chairman and CEO of First USA Bank, the credit card subsidiary of Bank One. Prior to joining First USA Bank, Mr. Heasley spent 13 years in executive positions at U.S. Bancorp, including six years as vice chairman and the last two years as president and chief operating officer. Before joining U.S. Bancorp, Mr. Heasley spent 13 years at Citicorp, including three years as president and COO of Diners Club, Inc.

Mr. Heasley served as chairman of the board of Visa USA from 1996 until November 2003 and was a member of the board of Visa International during the same period. Mr. Heasley also serves, or has served, as a director of Fidelity National Financial, Inc., Ohio Casualty Corporation, Fair Isaac Corporation, Kintera Inc., The Schwan Food Company, Inc., and Public Radio International. Mr. Heasley holds an MBA from Bernard Baruch Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Marist College.

Ms. Aretakis leads product development at ACI. In this role, she oversees software engineering, software product management and architecture for ACI’s Universal Payments product portfolio.

Prior to joining ACI, Ms. Aretakis was executive vice president at Unify/Siemens Enterprise Communications. Her responsibilities included P&L management and accountability for software development, product management and manufacturing of the global product portfolio. She previously served as president of IP network solutions at Siemens, unit president of the company’s U.S. carrier division and as executive vice president at Unisphere Networks.

Eve began her career as a software engineer for Texas Instruments and Raytheon. She transitioned to Product Management as she progressed into management roles of various business units. Ms. Aretakis holds her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Economics from Union College.

Mr. Behrens serves as senior executive vice president, chief financial officer of ACI Worldwide. He is responsible for global finance activities at ACI Worldwide.  Mr. Behrens joined ACI Worldwide in June 2007. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Behrens served as senior vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer at SITEL Corporation from January 2005 to June 2007. He also served as vice president of Financial Reporting at SITEL Corporation from April 2003 to January 2005. From 1993 to 2003, Mr. Behrens served as a senior manager at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Mr. Behrens holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.

Mr. Byrnes serves as executive vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel.  He joined ACI in 2003 as its general counsel.  Prior to ACI, Mr. Byrnes was an attorney in Bank One's technology group from 2002 to 2003 and before that with Sterling Commerce, an electronic commerce software and services provider, from 1996.  Mr. Byrnes began his legal career with Baker & Hostetler, serving as an attorney in that firm from 1991 to 1996.  He holds a JD from The Ohio State University College of Law, an MBA from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

Daniel Frate is group president of the ACI On Demand (AOD) business. In this role, Mr. Frate oversees ACI’s SaaS and Platform business, which includes single and multi-tenant payment solutions for retailers, large financial institutions, community financial institutions, billers and payment service providers. The AOD portfolio also includes ACI’s ReD and Proactive Risk Manager fraud detection solutions. Mr. Frate is also responsible for ACI’s global data center operations.

Prior to assuming his AOD leadership role, Mr. Frate led the Customer Management and Maintenance business. He joined ACI in 2012 and led the Strategic Products business until 2014.

Mr. Frate came to ACI from PNC, where he served as executive vice president of retail products. He joined PNC through the acquisition of National City Bank, where he served as vice chairman of the retail bank. Earlier in his career, he was the president of BankOne Card Services and vice chairman of Payment Services at U.S. Bank.

Mr. Frate is a member of the board of John Carroll University and of the Dean’s Advisory Council at the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University. He holds a M.S. in Finance from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from John Carroll University.

Mr. Gustin is a veteran marketer with expertise in product marketing, brand building and transforming the marketing function of companies to help them achieve revenue growth. As ACI’s Chief Marketing Officer, he leads global marketing strategy and execution. His teams are responsible for branding, strategy, customer experience management, product marketing, field marketing, digital marketing, advertising, public relations, market research and analysis and internal communications.

Mr. Gustin draws on his marketing experience in business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing—encompassing technology, software, services, consumer packaged goods, government and higher education—to conceptualize and lead innovative campaigns for ACI, including the launch of the Universal Payments brand in 2014.

Prior to joining ACI in 2012, Mr. Gustin was Chief Marketing Officer for Meru Networks (2011-2012) and for Eastman Kodak (1995-2007). Earlier in his career, he was vice president, director of worldwide communications and marketing at Apple Computer (1988-1994). He also managed new business development, account management, research and marketing/advertising practices for some of Young & Rubicam’s domestic affiliates.

Mr. Gustin has been named an Ad Age Top 50 Marketer and Delaney Marketer of the Year. He is a member of the board of directors of Direct Surety, Inc.

Image of Carolyn Homberger

Ms. Homberger is Group President, ACI Global Sales. In this role, she leads new business development with a team dedicated to connecting customers to ACI solutions designed to drive their profitability and success. These customers include large financial institutions, financial intermediaries, billers and merchants across the globe.

Prior to assuming her global sales leadership role, Ms. Homberger led ACI On Demand—the company’s SaaS and Platform business. This included P&L management and accountability for sales, global implementation & boarding, service delivery management, customer experience and payment services (settlement and reconciliation). She also previously led the Customer Management and Maintenance business and has held numerous other operational leadership positions at ACI.

Prior to joining ACI Worldwide in 2006, Ms. Homberger worked at GE Healthcare, where she held finance leadership roles and completed the Financial Management Program (FMP). Ms. Homberger co-chairs the U.S. Women in Payments Symposium advisory board and is very active in her local community. She is Six Sigma Green Belt Certified and holds her MBA from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science from Miami University.

Ms. Killam leads ACI’s Installed P&L. In this role, she is accountable for ACI’s on-premise business, which includes delivery and support for sophisticated payments solutions that give financial institutions, processors and other customers the control, customization and flexibility they need to succeed in the marketplace.

Prior to assuming her Installed leadership role, Ms. Killam was executive vice president of strategic products at ACI. She was responsible for guiding the planning and execution of the division’s strategic and operating plans and for monitoring performance. She also previously held operational leadership roles in acquisition program management and product operations at ACI.

Before joining ACI in 2007, Ms. Killam worked at First Data, where she held application development, release management and system recovery leadership roles. She holds her MBA and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Mr. Maki serves as executive vice president, treasurer and corporate development officer of ACI Worldwide. He is responsible for the global corporate development and treasury activities at ACI. Mr. Maki joined ACI Worldwide in June 2006. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Maki served as senior vice president for Stephens, Inc., from 1999 through May 2006. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Maki was a director in the corporate finance group at Arthur Andersen and from 1991 to 1994, he was a senior consultant at Andersen Consulting. Mr. Maki holds his MBA from the University of Denver and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming.

As chief risk officer, Mr. Morem leads the enterprise risk management activities for ACI. He was previously responsible for leading our ACI On Demand business and prior to that for delivering world-class support for all ACI products, a key aspect of the company's priority on customer satisfaction. Mr. Morem joined ACI Worldwide in June 2005. Prior to joining ACI, Mr. Morem held executive positions at GE Home Loans, Bank One Card Services and U.S. Bank. Mr. Morem brings more than 30 years of experience in process management, finance, operations, credit policy and change management. Mr. Morem holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota.

A leader with more than twenty years of payments and banking expertise, Mr. Saks serves as ACI’s chief operating officer. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operation of and coordination among the company’s four operating units: ACI On Demand P&L, Installed P&L, global sales and product development.

Prior to assuming the role of COO, Mr. Saks led ACI’s Strategic Products division. His responsibilities included P&L management and driving the performance of the advanced product portfolio, including Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Retailers, Electronic Bill Payment and Presentment, Payments Risk Management, Payment Hubs, Payments Tools and all associated channels, including mobile and online.

Before becoming part of the ACI team, Mr. Saks held senior-level positions at S1 Corporation (acquired by ACI), Fundamo (acquired by Visa) and PWC. Mr. Saks holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Commerce in Computer Science from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University).

Mr. Scotto is senior executive vice president, chief of technology. In this role, he drives ACI’s long-term technology vision and strategy. Cultivating innovative ideas is key to this strategy, and, during his tenure at ACI, Mr. Scotto has helped foster a culture of innovation. The ideas generated from all employees--those inside and outside of product development--have led to new and improved processes and products that deliver even more value to ACI’s customers. Mr. Scotto also leads the company’s Corporate IT and Acquisition Integration units.

Prior to focusing on his current strategic role, Mr. Scotto also led product development operations at ACI, including architecture and design, coding and testing as well as the software process for strategic products. In addition, he launched ACI’s development centers of excellence to fuel the sharing of research and best practices across product teams and divisions. 

Mr. Scotto has more than 30 years of experience running global product development organizations. As vice president of product development at 170 Systems, Inc., he was responsible for scaling all aspects of development, including headcount, product strategy, development processes and integration with other key corporate functions. Prior to that, Mr. Scotto held executive positions in product development at Oracle and StorageNetworks, Inc.  As a senior vice president at EMC (now Dell EMC), he led software engineering strategy and operations.

Mr. Scotto holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut and is a graduate of Northeastern University’s Executive Management Program.
