ACI Selected as Member of New Hong Kong Passport Development Team

“ACI Smart Chip Manager is recognized as a leading smart card management solution for banking and ID, where security, performance and flexibility are critical,” said Don McLarty, President Asia/Pacific, ACI Worldwide.  “The project will capitalize on Smart Chip Manager’s advanced functionality, much of which has already been implemented in the state-of-the-art Hong Kong Smart ID Card System.”

The e-Passport project was started in January 2006. The system is set up to produce 3500 electronic travel documents per day.

Smart Chip Manager offers a multifunction lifecycle management solution designed to control every aspect of a smart card and the applications that reside on it.  In the case of the e-Passport project, the software will enable e-passport issuing and lifecycle management including stock management functionality where the solution manages the e-passport stock in branches and headquarters.  Essentially the software will manage the various electronic travel documents as if they were smart cards.
